Finding Ecommerce Expired Domains

Old Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce sites: aged trust signal for a new store.

Module 3 2 min

Aged ecommerce domains carry real weight in Google's eyes. Old Shopify, WooCommerce or PrestaShop shops all leave a trust signal that's hard to fake. The trick is finding one with clean history and a niche that still makes sense for what you want to build.

Why it works

Search engines treat a domain that's hosted commerce for years differently from a fresh registration. Pick the right one, redirect or rebuild on top of it, and you skip the cold start. The history does the talking.

What you'll learn

  • The historical tech stack filter in the sidebar: pick the ecommerce CMS or plugins you want (CART, WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, ...).
  • How to combine multiple ecommerce signals in one search: shops that ran more than one ecommerce stack over time are usually the strongest candidates.
  • How to apply the same combo on the regfee (currently registrable) section to find a domain you can grab at registrar price and launch on today.
  • Why this beats keyword-based searches: tech stack is a behavioral signal, not a guess from the name.

Transcript

So in this quick video we're going to look at how to use CatchDoms to find expired domains for ecommerce.

With the sidebar on the left, you can scroll to the tech stack filter and look for historical plugins or CMS that are usually used for ecommerce. So here for example we have the CART functionality. We are going to look for maybe a few CMS like WooCommerce. And what else, maybe we can use: let's type directly Shopify, PrestaShop. We select those four filters, apply them, and here we'll directly have domains that are currently in auctions with those historical tech stacks.

So here we can directly find those auctions and websites that are useful for launching ecommerce, dropshipping websites and so on. So this is for the marketplaces.

And here in our exclusive regfee domains section, we can do the same and find expired domains that are directly available, that have for example all of those platforms, Shopify, PrestaShop and so on, and those are directly available for you to register and launch an ecommerce business straight away.
