Links from developer and startup sites can point to old projects, company profiles, discussions, repositories or a resource someone referenced once. Many links on these sites sit in user-created repositories, profiles, discussions or listings, so a link is something to inspect, not proof that the domain was a working product. The hover panel shows the exact linking page for that reason.
The 154 domains here are the ones where our backlink analysis found at least one link from the 8 sites we track: GitHub, Hacker News, Stack Overflow, Crunchbase, Product Hunt, GitLab, Mozilla and Stack Exchange. Are these links dofollow?
Mostly not. GitHub, Stack Overflow, Hacker News and Product Hunt add nofollow or user-generated-content attributes to outbound links. What a link can give you is a referral audience and a pointer to what the old site was, which the linking page will show.
What is the difference between this page and the Developer use case?
This page is about who linked to the domain. The Developer / tech use case is about what the site itself ran, detected from its archived pages: frameworks, documentation tools, CI, hosting. The two combine well.
Why do some domains show a link count but no badge?
The column shows how many referring domains we sampled. A badge only appears when one of the tracked sites is among them. The hover panel still lists the strongest referring domains for any analysed domain.
