API Terms of Use

These API Terms of Use supplement our General Terms of Service. By using the CatchDoms API, you agree to both.

1. API Access Plans
The CatchDoms API is available under three access levels:

2. Data Usage Rights
2.1 Pro Plan (Internal Use)
With a Pro subscription, you may use the API to:
- Build internal tools, dashboards, or scripts for your own use
- Integrate data into your personal workflow or AI assistants (MCP)
- Export data for your own analysis
You may not redistribute, resell, or display CatchDoms data to third parties (your customers, users, or the public).
2.2 Business Plan (Redistribution)
With a Business subscription, you may additionally:
- Display CatchDoms data on your platform, website, or application
- Offer domain search and filtering features to your own customers
- Include CatchDoms data in products or services you sell
Redistribution requires visible attribution: "Domain data by CatchDoms" or equivalent, unless you are on the White-label plan.
2.3 White-label Plan
With a White-label subscription, you have all Business rights plus:
- No CatchDoms branding or attribution requirement
- Custom rate limits agreed upon in writing
- Webhook notifications for new domain availability
- Dedicated support with response time SLA
3. Prohibited Uses
Regardless of your plan, you may not:
4. Data Accuracy & Disclaimer
CatchDoms aggregates data from third-party sources (registrar APIs, Wayback Machine, DataForSEO, Majestic/SEObserver, Open PageRank). We process and enrich this data, but:
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data field
- Domain availability, pricing, and auction status can change at any time on source platforms
- SEO metrics (DA, TF, CF, backlinks) are indicative and may differ from primary source tools
- Quality scores are proprietary calculations and should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions
The API and all data are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
5. Availability & Rate Limits
- We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible
- Rate limits are enforced per API token; exceeding limits returns HTTP 429
- We reserve the right to temporarily reduce rate limits during high-load periods
White-label customers receive an SLA with specific uptime and response time commitments, defined in their individual agreement.
6. API Changes
- We may add new fields, endpoints, or features at any time without notice
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice before removing fields or making breaking changes
- We recommend that your integration handles unknown fields gracefully
7. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or revoke API access if:
- You violate these terms or the General Terms of Service
- Your usage pattern suggests abuse (e.g., systematic bulk downloading beyond normal use)
- Your payment fails and is not resolved within 7 days
Upon termination, you must stop using the API and delete any cached data within 30 days. Business and White-label customers retain the right to display previously retrieved data for a reasonable transition period (up to 90 days).
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- CatchDoms is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from API use
- Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for losses resulting from domain purchases, investments, or business decisions made using our data
9. Governing Law
These API Terms are governed by the laws of France. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lille, France.
